F.A.Q

What is the healing process like?

Healing a tattoo is very easy and requires minimal effort.

Most tattoos I do take 2-4 weeks to fully heal, depending on you immune system and style. Linework tattoos should take about 1week to heal.

The bandage is filling up and looks gross. Should I take it off?

This is an accumulation of blood plasma and excess ink your body has pushed out. If its a little just leave the bandage on. If its seeping out of the bandage please take it off and start the aftercare cleaning. If you have a second piece than replace it. Do NOT leave bandages on for longer than 7 days.

Depending on the size and area of the tattoo, I may apply a “second skin,” this is a clear adhesive bandage that protects the tattoo from your environment, which you leave on for a 3-5 days.

Can I see a drawing before I get tattooed?

I do not usually send out drawings before the appointment. Due to a busy schedule, it just doesn't work for me to send out drawings to each and every client in advance. If we have discussed it and I find it necessary I send out a draft a day before to make small edits. I know this bothers some people, but it's been working for many years, and everyone leaves happy with their new tattoo.

Can I bring a friend with me?

You can bring one other person with you to your appointment. Be sure to let them know that they will be bored out of their mind waiting for you to finish your tattoo. Please DO NOT bring children to your appointment. This is extremely distracting for me!

What if I need a touch up?

95% of the time touch ups are not required except for hands and feet. Hands and feet may require at least one touch up. Please see my touch up policy below.

Note: touch ups are minor and shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes.

Touch Up Policy

One Free touch up is offered within 6 months of the appointment date. This applies to the areas where the ink may have not settled as expected. The tattoo must be fully healed before a touch-up appointment is made. This is typically 4-6 weeks.

Conditions for free touch up:

  • Provided that the tattoo was properly cared for and followed the aftercare instructions.

  • Touch ups are not free if the fading or damage is due to improper aftercare, sun exposure, swimming, or picking at scabs.

  • I do NOT offer free touch ups on hands/fingers, feet, elbows/knees or neck/behind the ear. These areas are known for faster ink fading due to high friction areas or challenging skin types. These areas may require regular maintenance at my regular rate.
