First Aid

Aftercare

  1. If I have put on a clear adhesive bandage please leave on for 3-5 days. If the bandage is excessively weeping blood plasma in the first 24 hours I would change it to the second piece. If I did not give you a second piece its because it won't require one and please leave this on. (Some blood plasma accumulation is helpful for healing.)

  2. When you have reached 5 days take the bandage off at the end of your shower. Wash it off with non-scented or mild soap. Pump soaps are the best as they don't accumulate bacteria. Pat dry with a paper towel NOT a towel (even if they are clean they can still harbor bacteria.) When fully dry put a small "chap-stick" layer of ointment and massage gently into the tattoo.

  3. Best options are tattoo related ointments. Natural products are best and cause the least irritations. Check my store of my available ointment. I do sell my 'Happy Healing Balm' at the shop to purchase.

  4. Clean everyday sometimes twice a day dependent on your daily activities.

  5. Do not scratch or pick.

  6. Stay out of the sun! UV rays will harm the healing process and effect the ink.

  7. Massage in a light layer of ointment when it gets itchy.

  8. Fully healed tattoos range dependent on your immune system. It can range from 4-6 weeks.

  9. Style of tattoo can effect this healing time. Colour usually takes more time to heal compared to script that can heal quickly.

  10. Only apply mineral sunblock when fully healed.

  11. Water activities can be resumed after 2 weeks.

  12. Do not exercise, or do any activities that can cause sweating for at least 7 days afterwards. This will affect the quality of the healing process.

  13. Keep your fresh tattoo away from pet dander and fur as this can cause bacterial dermatitis and can result in Cellulitis.
